Installation

To complement the live performance of Absence and Presence, Andrew has created an art installation. The installation captures and freezes the theme of the performance - the passing of time without the presence of a living witness.

Andrew talks about the installation:

"The installation has given me the opportunity to express myself and the themes of Absence and presence in another way other than live performance. In an installation I am able to distil the ideas behind the performance in a single theatrical moment. A moment that can be viewed ant any time. To capture the 10 days that my father lay undiscovered. Life was absent, I was absent, and all movement was absent. In this installation I will explore this time - its absence and presence of life.
The audience will have the opportunity to see the installation on the way in to the performance and then again on the way out. After the performance the installation will take on a new meaning, a new life and a different presence. I am curious to capture the contrast between the stillness and movement of the sculpture and the movement and stillness of the performance."
